ABOUT
Dr. Andrea Hernández Holm is the founder of Corazón Research and Writing Consulting. She is an academic and creative writer with over 30 years of experience providing professional consultation services. Through coaching, consulting, editing, and teaching, Dr. Holm has helped writers successfully complete their projects, from class assignments to grant applications to book manuscripts, and more. She has worked extensively with academic writers, creative writers, teachers of writing, and community writers in all academic disciplines and at all skill levels.

Most recently, Dr. Holm was the director of an academic writing support program at the University of Arizona. She led a team of expert writing specialists in the delivery of support services for writers from around the world. In addition to coordinating writing institutes and workshops for high school, undergraduate, and graduate students, Dr. Holm facilitated programs and consultations for faculty in Humanities, Social Sciences, and STEM fields. Dr. Holm also created the Academic Writing in the Borderlands program, Writing Groups for People of Color, Workshops for International Writers, and Professional Writing for Teachers and Teacher Leaders program. She has secured grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities, Marshall Foundation, Commission on the Status of Women, and the University of Arizona.

Her past work includes research and publication support for non-profit organizations in Indian Country and copy-editing for the Casa Grande Valley Newspapers.

Dr. Holm's education includes a doctorate and master's degrees in Mexican American Studies, a master's degree in American Indian Studies, and a bachelor's degree in English. Her interdisciplinary training includes quantitative and qualitative research design. Her research interests and professional experiences align in the areas of writing and resiliency. She has presented her research at national conferences and has a number of peer-reviewed publications.
